Next Stop: #misadventurecronicles

Living in a new town, taking a new bus route, generally getting used to a new life is difficult. Over the last couple weeks I’ve definitely had my fair share of growing pains. Today on the way to the bus stop I hear my phone deliver a text message. So I decide to wait until I get to the stop to look at my phone because I’m hustling, don’t want to miss this bus. With NJTransit you never know if they’ll be on time, late, or even show up! Air on the side of caution and hope for the best.

So I’m book in’ to this stop. I get to the corner and I can’t find it. Take everything out of my bag and it’s not there. BUT I JUST HEARD IT! So me being me, I think it’s in my imagination, reminding me I forgot my phone. Mind you, my bus pass is IN my case. So I sprint, yes big booty Judy sprinting down Raritan Rd. I get to my apt, phones not there either. So I jog, can’t sprint twice us know (slow your role friend!), back to the stop where I left my bags so I could move faster. It HAS to be in between some books or something. So I take and shake everything out again. NOTHING!! So I start freaking out.

By this time I’m covered in sweat from running my plump behind back and forth, my hair is completely frizzed out (there goes THAT 30 minutes I spent trying to look presentable) and I’m generally feeling like I’m going to burst into tears. Bus comes up opens the doors and asks what’s wrong I tell him the whole story. He gets off the bus and takes out his phone and tells me to call it So I do.

This man starts WALKING down the street looking, WALKING! THE DRIVER! He walks slowly with me down the block to look and just as we’re about to give up, there it is on the grass. I ran past it twice because I was panicked. Talk about anticlimactic, and annoying as hell! The bus driver laughs at me and told me I’m just like his wife. Guess there’s more than one crazy lady out there.
Moral of the story: don’t second guess yourself, panic will solve no problems, and nice people do exist. I’m covered in sweat, my hair is a mess, and I’m wheezing. Now I’ll sit on this bus, drink my matcha and ponder how my life is truly a #misadventure
