#MisaventureChronicles: Retail Today

on

Observing a mother and child on the toy section. Child is RIPPING apart our displays, opening boxes of toys. Throwing things on the floor. I passed them THREE times hoping the mother would say something to him for misbehaving.

Child: Mommy I’m sweating! I’m really sweating!

Mother: *continues to shop*

Child: Mommy, mommy I’m really sweating it’s so hot.

Mother: *monotone without looking up* oh hunnie, why are you sweating what’s wrong?

Child: I’m so hot mommy I’m sweating so much!

Mother: *still not looking up* oh baby you must be getting sick. It’s not hot in here. You have to be sick

Me: Maybe if you stopped throwing all those things around and helped me clean them up we can cool off together! Doesn’t THAT sound like fun?!

Child: Mommy I’m sick we have to go home!

Mother: *finally looks up when she hears my voice*

Me: *blinking*

Mother: *glares* Lets go hunnie, we really should get you to lay down.
