as darkness falls and blackness crawls
he reappears night after night
without reason, without right
breaking through every barrier
spreading his sensory disease, nostalgia, he’s a viral carrier
even in slumber my body shifts flailing and flopping
my minds eye taking apart our time, clipping and cropping
his invasion?
implanted scenes, his nightly creations
beneath his cloak made of moon and stars, he unhinges my soul, he reopens the scars
his eyes and his smile bring pleasure, this exquisite pain
sharing every breathe, sharing a singular vein
petals of the past falling from a forbidden rose
all the while my eyes lie closed
a slumbering caress
with logic crying out in distress
but hes stronger here at night
here without the suns light
i can’t escape this caped crusader
he’s my dream invader
